The article below appeared in the Relaunchings section of WoodenBoat Magazine www.woodenboat.com Mar/Apr 2005 Issue #183.
Stan Grayson of Devereux Books called after reading the article to ask if I would write a chapter, one of eight, for his book "Restore YourWoodenBoat" www.devereuxbooks.com I was honored to do so. After publication as I read the book I was surprised to learn how simular each restoration project was. The many different ways found to solve problems was very enlightning. What a great help it would have been to have such a book before starting my project. If you have ever considered "saving" a wooden boat this book is about "keeping it simple" and provides plenty of encouragement.
E-mail me at crn007@comcast.net if you have any questions and I will try to answer. I would really like is to hear from others who have also done restorations and we can place their stories on the site. Expanding the site to list boats headed for the Burn Pile and get them into the hands of people who will rescue and restore them is our mission.

Chris Craft Kit Boat & 1953 Thompson Sea Skiff
The Kit Boat was my first restoration. The yellow Thompson was next, it was given to me by a gentleman who had seen the Chris-Craft Kit Boat at a museum boat show in South Haven Michigan. He wondered if I might want the 1953 Thompson setting on his burnpile in Hell,Mi.
